I know what you are thinking... between the Mek Setters’ first album “And Now..” in April 2009, we had to wait until December 2010 for their next release “The Maastricht Circle”.  And then we had to wait until May 2011 for “Glass Keys”, and now it is only January 2012 and they have a brand new album out.... so soon?

As prolific as The Blue Nile perhaps, but luckily they also share that band’s quality control.  “Fades” is available now from iTunes and you will notice there are a few tracks you will recognise:  but in name only - The Mekano Set have created an album that may appear like a collection of new songs and remixes, but not really, listen closer and you will see the remixes take the older songs to a new place altogether.  Personal highlights for me are “Tide House” and “And Want More” featuring the sub-frequencies of ultimate bass machine Mutate.

This is absolutely the best thing you will buy this week.
